Suffolk Remembers to Return for 2026

22 May 2026

St Elizabeth Hospice’s much-loved remembrance event, Suffolk Remembers, is to set return once more for 2026.

Every year Suffolk Remembers sees 5,000 candles displayed along Felixstowe seafront. Hundreds of people will gather to remember their loved ones, as the moving remembrance service brings the annual Suffolk Day to a close.

Taking place on Sunday 21 June from 9pm-10pm, this year’s event will see live performances from Pop Chorus choir and Martlesham Brass, as well as a number of poetry readings.

Catherine Sheppard, Individual Giving Manager at St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “Suffolk Remembers brings our local community together to celebrate the lives of loved ones, and remember those no longer with us.

“Join us for this special remembrance event, on 21 June, as we listen to a number of readings and musical performances, marking the close of Suffolk Day on the beautiful Felixstowe seafront.”

Viewing candles dedications at Suffolk Remembers

Now in its ninth year, Suffolk Remembers is a free to attend event. For each dedicated candle, the hospice kindly asks supporters to consider making a donation to the independent Suffolk charity, which every year cares for more than 4,000 patients living with a progressive or life-limiting illness, and their families, throughout East & Mid-Suffolk, Great Yarmouth and Waveney.

All are welcome to dedicate a candle, even if they have not previously been under the hospice’s care. The hospice is encouraging all who have lost a friend or relative to take the opportunity to join people from across the region in remembering them through Suffolk Remembers 2026, which once again is sponsored by East of England Co-op Funeral Services.

Joe Tull, Head of Funeral Services at East of England Co-op said: “We’re proud to once again sponsor Suffolk Remembers.

“Bringing people together to honour and celebrate the lives of loved ones is important, and this event means a lot to our community. We’re looking forward to joining everyone at Felixstowe seafront on 21 June.”

People will have the option to include a photo when making their dedications to loved ones, which will be included in the Suffolk Remembers online gallery. A solar-powered candle will also be lit and added to the hospice’s physical event display on the night.

The candles will be displayed from Sunday 21 June, at Felixstowe Seafront Gardens, until 12pm on Wednesday 24 June.
