Take the Plunge in our Christmas Day Dip!
Tickets are now available for brave ‘dippers’ wanting to take the plunge this Christmas, as St Elizabeth Hospice’s traditional Christmas Day Dip returns for 2026.
The independent Suffolk charity is once again asking the local community to show its love for its local hospice by completing a fundraising dip in the North Sea, on Christmas Day, with tickets now available to purchase for £17 until 23 December – while on the day registration will also be available.
The much-loved event will see hundreds of ‘dippers’ don festive outfits before plunging into the icy cold North Sea at Felixstowe to raise vital funds, through sponsorship, for St Elizabeth Hospice which every year delivers free care to on average over 4,000 patients and their families throughout East & Mid Suffolk, Great Yarmouth and Waveney.
James Fox-Golding, Events and Challenges Manager at the hospice, said: “Our much-loved Christmas Day Dip is returning again this Christmas!
“It is a real festive tradition for so many in our local community, bringing people together on Christmas morning while showing their love for their local hospice.
“It’s a brilliant event and we can’t wait to see our amazing dippers, in their wide range of festive themed costumes, as they brave the chill and take the plunge as part of their fundraising dips.
“Every penny raised will make a difference, helping our dedicated teams continue to care for patients and their families across East and Mid Suffolk, Great Yarmouth and Waveney, including during what can be an especially difficult time of year.”
Funds raised by the Christmas Day Dip will go towards the hospice’s Christmas appeal, Be a Star. Sponsored by Astral Global Logistics, Be a Star sees the charity encourage the community to support the hospice over the festive period and help staff ensure patients and families create precious moments together.
The St Elizabeth Hospice Christmas Day Dip 2026 will take place on Christmas Day at 10am, opposite Mannings Amusement on Felixstowe seafront, with on the day registration open from 8.30am.
