Supporting Professionals with Hospice Education

We offer training and support to local health and social care professionals involved in the care of individuals facing incurable illness and bereavement.

There are a range of courses, palliative care masterclasses & study days available, both online & in person.

Hospice Education is a joint partnership with St Elizabeth Hospice & St Helena

The Hospice Education collaboration with St Helena provides one place for health and social care professionals to visit, learn new skills and share ideas to increase knowledge and skill sets to better meet the needs of the communities we serve.

In person training may take place at St Helena’s Learning and Development Centre in Colchester or at St Elizabeth Hospice’s Education Centre in Ipswich.

Hospice Education is passionate about inclusion. It is important we are able include everyone with different backgrounds and make the education experience accessible for all.

If you have any special requirements or need any reasonable adjustments to be made please email us in advance of attending your training.

What is on offer?

A range of classes are available to book, including palliative care masterclasses.

If you work at a care home, our Care Home Accreditation programme will help you gain skills for end-of-life care with a certified award.

We also offer training on ReSPECT and can arrange bespoke training to be tailored to your organisational needs.

Other training from St Elizabeth Hospice

As well as Hospice Education, St Elizabeth Hospice hosts additional programmes for professionals to help with bereavement:

Dying to Talk – a free specialised one day training course designed to equip schools with the knowledge and skills to provide compassionate and effective support to children and young people who are bereaved.

Compassionate Workplaces – free 2 hour awareness training helping employers support their workforce when experiencing loss and bereavement.

By expanding my skillset with St Elizabeth’s Hospice Education programme, I was able to boost my career and improve my level of care
to patients.
