‘Oh We Do Like to Be Beside the Seaside’ Zest Goes to the Beach!

There was plenty of fun and laughter as the Zest young adults and their families enjoyed a fantastic summer evening at Felixstowe beach this August, as part of the monthly Zest X-Change.
On Tuesday 5 August, the group took part in a range of seaside-themed games and activities before tucking into the all-important fish and chips as they relaxed by the sea.
The young adults decorated their own flip flops, flew a kite and had a paddle in the North Sea, as well as celebrated the birthdays of Bethany and George!

Joanne Spencer, activities coordinator at Zest, said: “What a wonderful evening! Our yearly trips to Felixstowe beach are a lovely get together and a real treat for the young adults, as well as the Zest staff and volunteers.
“The young adults love being outside in the sun and the evening was full of smiles and laughter throughout. It was also really nice to see some new faces to Zest who had the chance to make new friends and see what Zest is all about.”
Part of the St Elizabeth Hospice Group, since 2015, Zest has provided specialist medical and social support services to young adults, aged 14 and upwards, living with progressive and life-limiting illnesses, while also ensuring the smooth transition from children’s hospice into adult care.
Held on the first Tuesday of every month, between 4.30pm-7.30pm, Zest X-Change is Zest’s young adult social group.
Zest X-Change offers a place for young people to meet, engage in inclusive activities and share experiences. It is available for young adults aged 14 upwards to support the transition from children’s services.
