Hospice Response to Funding Announcement

Following yesterday’s UK Government funding announcement, here is our hospice’s statement:

“This news is a very welcome boost for St Elizabeth Hospice and our mission to provide high-quality end-of-life care across East & Mid Suffolk, Great Yarmouth and Waveney.

“The grant has been awarded as a contribution to our capital expenditure, and as such it will help future-proof our ability to continue to provide high quality services.

“Delivering our services to over 4,000 patients a year costs around £12 million annually, and we remain reliant on the generosity of our local community to deliver the specialist care that is so deeply needed.

“We appreciate the Government’s acknowledgment of the need to improve the sustainability of hospice care and we are grateful for today’s announcement.”
