Hospices Partner for ‘Tree-cycling’ Initiative this Christmas
St Elizabeth Hospice and East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) are once again partnering to host a Christmas tree recycling scheme – ‘Tree-cycling’ – for the local community this festive season.
Returning for the fourth year, registration is open from 15 November through to 5 January 2025 with the partnership collecting trees from homes in the following postcodes: IP1, IP2, IP3, IP4, IP5, IP6, IP7, IP8, IP9, IP10, IP11, IP12, IP13, IP14, IP15, IP16, IP17, IP18, CO11.
Tree collection will take place on 9 and 10 January, with hospice teams being joined by volunteers from Amazon, Cadent Gas, Jackson Civil and Medequip, who are kindly supporting the work this year, with all recycled trees being used to turn into woodchip for the bears at Jimmy’s Farm & Wildlife Park.
Kelly Nekrews, community fundraiser at St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “Please do join our ‘tree-cycling’ scheme this year and turn your festive clean-up into a gift that gives back to two important charities in your local area.
“Every Christmas tree recycled helps the two hospices raise vital funds to support patients and their families at times in their lives when care matters most.”

“It’s an amazing thing to be part of, and the money we raise is a phenomenal amount – funds that go such a long way to helping us continue our vital care and support,” said EACH’s Community Fundraising Manager, Tina Burdett.
“Last Christmas was fabulous, and everything went so smoothly. People are always supportive and generous with their donations, and, of course, it wouldn’t be possible without the army of volunteers, including many corporate friends, who give their time to help.”
