To mark National Grief Awareness Day this August, St Elizabeth Hospice will be hosting an afternoon of cakes and refreshments, as well as providing an opportunity to learn more about the emotional wellbeing support available from the independent Suffolk charity.
The afternoon will be held 12-3pm, at the hospice’s Heath Road Moments Coffee Shop, on 30th August to mark the national awareness day.
Held annually, National Grief Awareness Day encourages people to recognise that the time it takes to heal from loss does not have a prescribed course and to open up conversations around bereavement and loss, so we can better support one another.
Katie Cowling, counsellor for St Elizabeth Hospice’s Emotional Wellbeing Team which is part of the hospice’s LivingGrief service, said: “We are really looking to welcoming the local community to our Heath Road Moments Coffee Shop to mark National Grief Awareness Day.
“The afternoon will provide the opportunity for the community to join with the hospice team and reflect on special moments we shared with loved ones we have lost, while also offering support and the chance to learn more about the emotional wellbeing services the hospice provides.”
Tea and coffee will be on offer throughout the afternoon as well as a free sweet treat for all to enjoy.
No booking is required ahead of the event but if you would like to find out more about St Elizabeth Hospice’s LivingGrief service please call 0300 303 5196 or visit www.stelizabethhospice.org.uk/how-we-can-help/information-and-support/bereavement-support/
