Medication at End of Life
Learning outcomes:
- Understand commonly prescribed medications in the final days of life
- Explore safe prescribing and administration practices
- Learn how to support patients and carers in medication management
Pain and Symptom Management
Learning outcomes:
- Develop a holistic approach to managing pain and other distressing symptoms
- Understand pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions
- Recognise when to escalate care or seek specialist support
Compassion Fatigue
Learning outcomes:
- Identify the signs of compassion fatigue and burnout in care work
- Learn strategies for self-care and organisational support
- Reflect on emotional resilience and sustainable caring
Professional Boundaries

- Understand how boundaries affect team dynamics and patient safety
- Explore real-life scenarios to identify boundary issues
- Learn how to respond when boundaries are challenged

Parking
Parking is limited at all 3 hospice sites so we ask that you park in accordance with the highway code as poor parking creates a reputational risk for the hospices with our neighbours . Due to the residential location of St Helena Hospice, please take note of restricted parking areas along with overflow parking option and footpath route to the hospice.
