Take Part in Santa Dash
St Elizabeth East Coast Hospice is calling on supporters to don their festive fancy dress and show their love for their local hospice by participating in the charity’s Santa Dash 2024.
Taking place on Sunday, 8th December, from midday on Gorleston promenade (NR31 6DJ), the Santa Dash – sponsored by Persimmon Homes – will see participants dressed in Santa outfits and Christmas-themed fancy dress as they take part in either a sponsored Family Fun Run (dash, jog, walk, or skip) or a 5k timed run along Gorleston’s cliff top and promenade.
All funds raised will go towards St Elizabeth East Coast Hospice which, in partnership with East Coast Community Healthcare, has cared for more than 5,000 patients and their families in Great Yarmouth and Waveney, since launching in April 2019.
Brandon Orton, Events and Challenges Fundraiser at St Elizabeth East Cost Hospice, said: “After such a brilliant event last year, we are thrilled to bring back the Santa Dash to Gorleston this December in support of St Elizabeth East Coast Hospice.
“It will be a great opportunity to join together with the communities of Great Yarmouth and Waveney to raise funds that support our vital services in the area. These services provide essential care to patients and families during some of the most challenging times of their lives.

Last year’s Santa Dash raised over £7,000 for St Elizabeth East Coast Hospice, which improves life for people in Great Yarmouth and Waveney living with a progressive or life-limiting illness, delivering specialist palliative care provision in people’s homes, at Beccles Hospital, at its Community Care Units and through the service’s 24-hour advice line, OneCall.
Entry for the 5k race is £15 and open to all over the age of 18, with the fee including a Santa hat and souvenir medal, as well as a trophies for the winners. While entry for the 2k race is £10 for adults and £8 for children and also includes a hat and medal.
On the day registration is available. However for the 5k run, no official timing will be available for on the day registrations.
