27 September 2025

St Elizabeth Hospice has officially unveiled its new retail shop in Diss.

Opening its doors for the first time on Saturday (27 September), the hospice shop is located on Mere Street in the town and will be open 9.30am-4.30pm, Monday to Saturday.

Cutting the ribbon to mark the shop’s opening was shop manager Lorraine Harris and Diss Town Mayor, Cllr Declan Craggs.

Lorraine said: “It is fantastic to open our new shop here in Diss and we would like to thank the local community for their warm welcome.

“We look forward to seeing many new faces visit the shop and if you are interested in volunteering, as part of our team, do let us know!

“St Elizabeth Hospice’s work is at the heart of the community, and this shop will help us connect further with local people, while raising vital funds to support patients and their families during difficult times.”

St Elizabeth Hospice’s Diss shop becomes the charity’s 34th store and will sell a range of menswear, womenswear, children’s clothes, books, vinyl, homeware and seasonal goods – such as the always popular hospice Christmas cards.

Cllr Declan Craggs said: “It is great news for the high street that we have another new shop opening to bring life into the town.

“The shop is obviously supporting a very good cause. Hospices provide such a vital service and this shop is a brilliant way for people to buy things while supporting a local charity.”

All funds raised through the shop will go towards the work of St Elizabeth Hospice, which every year support to over 4,000 patients & families living with life-limiting illnesses in the local area.

Annually, these services cost around £12 million to deliver, with 70% of funds raised via generous community support through donations, fundraising challenges, retail shops and gifts in Wills.
