Hop to it! Suffolk 2025 Artist Spotlight – Lily Hammond

14 July 2025

Lily Hammond is an illustrator based in rural Suffolk, with a first-class honours degree in illustration.

Specialising in botanicals, murals, and pattern design, her work spans commissions for major clients like the BBC to collaborations in East London studios. Lily is passionate about colour and pattern, and blends her love for interior decor with bold, uplifting portraits, often celebrating inspirational women from minority ethnic backgrounds.

She is driven by a desire to create inclusive art, and her portfolio showcases diverse subjects while staying true to her vibrant, textured style.

Lily works across digital, markers, and acrylics, bringing energy to murals, homeware, branding, workshops, and community art projects.

Lily lives in Ipswich and got involved with Hop to it! Suffolk 2025 because she wanted to support a really important local charity doing great work.

‘The art trail brings life, energy and excitement to the town, which is so important, especially for our local and independent businesses having more footfall in the town and people enjoying themselves on the trail.’

‘I love the concept of an art trail. It’s so engaging and exciting, and I love the big reveal at the beginning when you get to see all the amazing artwork the artists have done. It really is such a wonderful fun project to be part of, especially for such a wonderful cause.’

Lily also painted an owl for the most recent hospice art trail, the Big Hoot Ipswich in 2022.

‘I feel so privileged to have been selected again. I love to work big and I love bright eye-catching pieces, so these sculptures are a great, unique way to showcase my artwork.’
