Funding Boost for St Elizabeth Hospice

Following the UK Government announcement of a funding boost for hospices, please read our hospice statement below:
“We welcome this latest release of government funding, following the December 2024 announcement of £100 million in capital investment to be shared between adult and children’s hospices. We were grateful to receive the first phase of funding in February 2025, and this latest phase provides a further positive and much‑needed boost for the hospice sector.
“The grant awarded to St Elizabeth Hospice will support capital expenditure, helping us to future-proof our facilities and continue delivering high-quality, compassionate end-of-life care across East & Mid-Suffolk, Great Yarmouth and Waveney.
“This is a one-off allocation, restricted to capital investment, and we are extremely grateful for it. However, the ongoing challenge of raising around £12 million each year to fund our services remains.
“Annually, our services provide specialist care to more than 4,000 patients and we continue to rely on the amazing generosity of our local community to fund this care.
“We welcome the government’s recognition of the hospice sector’s vital role and remain hopeful for continued conversations around sustainable, long-term funding for hospice care in the UK.”
