Festive Dip Rescheduled for Valentine’s Day
St Elizabeth Hospice has announced Valentine’s Day (14 February) as the new date for its fundraising dip, following last year’s Christmas Day Dip being postponed due to adverse weather.
The rescheduled event will see hundreds of ‘dippers’ in fancy dress and vibrant outfits, with the hospice encouraging Valentine’s Day themed costumes such as cupids and famous couples, before plunging into the icy North Sea at Felixstowe Beach to raise vital funds for the hospice.
The Valentine’s Day Dip will take place at 10.30am, opposite Mannings Amusement on Felixstowe seafront, on Saturday 14 February, with all previously registered ‘dippers’, for the Christmas Day Dip 2025, being eligible to take part.
Celia Joseph, Senior Public Fundraising Manager at St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “We are pleased to announce our much-loved Christmas Day Dip has been rescheduled for Valentine’s Day.
“We were disappointed to postpone the Dip, due to high winds and safety advice from our event partners, but it was the right decision to ensure the safety of our supporters.
“Our new date offers the perfect opportunity to join your loved ones, to show your support for your local hospice by braving the chill with a cold dip in the North Sea this Valentine’s Day.
“Thank you to all our supporters for your understanding and patience. We are very much looking forward to welcoming everyone to the dip on Valentine’s Day and St Elizabeth Hospice is very grateful for everyone for their support whether you are dipping or spectating.”
The St Elizabeth Hospice Valentine’s Day Dip will be held on Saturday 14 February at 10.30am, opposite Mannings Amusement on Felixstowe seafront, with on the day registration open from 9am for the fee of £20.
Online registration is also available until 12 February at 11.59pm for the fee of £16 per dipper and places can be secured by visiting https://register.enthuse.com/ps/event/ValentinesDayDip.

Here you will also have the option to donate your entry fee to the hospice if the new date does not work for you or to request a refund of your registration fee.
Please complete the form by midnight on Sunday 18 January. Refunds will be processed after this date and should appear within 10 working days.
If the hospice team does not hear from you by the deadline, they will assume you are kindly donating your entry fee to St Elizabeth Hospice.
