Afternoon of music and verse in aid of St Elizabeth Hospice
An afternoon of music and verse alongside fizz and canapés is to be held in Aldeburgh this October in aid of St Elizabeth Hospice.
Taking place at St Peter & St Paul Church, Aldeburgh, from 4pm on Saturday 2nd October, the event will offer an array of musical and spoken delights, plus a guided tour of the church.
Starring pianist Warren Shattles, soprano Helen Hardwick, tenor Philip Harradine-Robinson and actor Elizabeth Elsworth, the concert will be a celebratory mix of popular classics, light opera and spoken word, featuring work from Verdi and Romberg to Lerner & Loewe as well as Shakespeare, Browning and Rachmaninoff.
Tickets cost £15 and can be booked by visiting register.enthuse.com/ps/event/AldeburghAfternoonSoiree.
All proceeds raised will go towards St Elizabeth Hospice and its work in partnership with East Coast Community Healthcare (ECCH) to provide free specialist palliative care services to patients and their families throughout Great Yarmouth and Waveney.
Lesley Rawlinson, who works as Community & Partnerships Fundraiser for St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “This will be a wonderful event, full of high quality performances for all to enjoy and one which will bring the community together.
“We are very grateful to all the performers and to St Peter & St Paul Church for their support and look forward to joining with the local community to enjoy the performances while also raising vital funds to support our work, alongside ECCH, in delivering services for the coastal communities of Great Yarmouth and Waveney.”
Since launching in April 2019 more than 2,000 people have been supported by the partnership via the service’s 24-hour advice line OneCall, at Beccles Hospital, in the community through hospice clinical nurse specialists working across Waveney and Great Yarmouth visiting patients in their homes or received support through the hospice’s emotional, wellbeing and bereavement support service, LivingGrief.
