Memory Hare

This is an opportunity to make a unique tribute to a loved one as part of the Hop to it! Suffolk 2025 art trail.

Our Memory Hare offers a chance for you to remember someone special by having their name added to a specially commissioned hare sculpture that will be included in our Suffolk art trail this summer.

The special design features over 500 stars. Each star will be filled with a hand-painted name.

Introducing ‘Starlight’

Due to an overwhelming response to our first Memory Hare, ‘Journey Well’, an additional hare sculpture has been commissioned to give our passionate supporters a second chance to make a dedication on a large star.

Thank you, once again, to our wonderful artist Jo Burrows who has managed to give Starlight its own character while complimenting the original sculpture and design.

Sponsored byEast of England COOP

“We’re delighted to sponsor the St Elizabeth Hospice ‘Hop To It!’ art trail and to unveil the Memory Hare as part of this fantastic initiative.

“At the East of England Co-op, we’re committed to supporting causes that bring communities together and make a lasting impact. The Memory Hare holds a special meaning, serving as a tribute to cherished memories and loved ones. Members of the public who have suffered from loss will have the opportunity to donate to have a star dedicated to their loved ones painted onto the hare, creating a lasting tribute in the heart of our community.”

Simply click one of the ‘dedication’ buttons. You will be taken to our registration platform ‘Enthuse’ where you will be given a form to complete.

You have the option to buy up to one large and two small stars, only – this is because ‘Journey Well’ has been so popular, we have had to limit the number of stars to make sure more people have the chance to make a dedication.

Please ensure you correctly enter the names of those you are paying tribute to.

The name will appear on the sculpture as it is written on the form (please refer to our Terms & Conditions).

All pre-dedicated names will be painted on the hare that will be part of Hop to it! Suffolk 2025, which launches Saturday 21 June. ‘Journey Well’ will reside in our Hop HQ based in the Buttermarket Shopping Centre in Ipswich. It will remain there for the trail duration.

This is the first memory sculpture St Elizabeth Hospice has included as part of an art trail and we’re excited to bring you this special chance to make a unique tribute.

Once Journey Well is in the Buttermarket*, we would love to invite you along to view the amazing work of artist Jo Burrows, in person, and see your dedication.

*Viewing ‘Journey Well’, in person at Hop HQ, Buttermarket Centre, will be subject to opening times. These will be published online closer to the trail launch.
