Reception Volunteer
Volunteer Role Description
Our Reception Team are looking for volunteers to cover the following shifts – every other Tuesday 13.00 – 17.00 and every Thursday 09.00 – 13.00
If you have a good knowledge of general office duties including good IT skills, a professional approach with good attention to detail, this is the role for you.
Some of the tasks include:-
- To greet all visitors to the hospice in the same warm, friendly, professional manner.
- To familiarise yourself with all information relevant to your shift, including the computerised IPU and CCU patient lists and the on-line calendar for any non-patient visitors expected.
- To answer all incoming telephone calls in a timely, professional, manner, using the computerised switchboard
- To use the Reception email account to messages colleagues and pass on relevant information to other teams within the hospice
All volunteers will receive training to support them in their role.

St Elizabeth Hospice has a volunteer mileage/expenses policy which allows volunteers to claim expenses and mileage incurred whilst carrying out their role for the hospice.
Please note: to volunteer for this role you must be 18 or over.
