Thornbank Care Home has become the seventh care home to receive recognition by St Elizabeth Hospice’s care home accreditation scheme.
The care home on Westerfield Road in Ipswich has been working closely with the hospice’s education team to improve the quality and standards in the end of life care provided to residents.
The home which provides care for residential, dementia and respite care offers residents a friendly environment and even features their very own pub.
Mark Millar, chief executive of St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “This achievement is a huge credit to the home and team who have allowed us to come in and work closely
with staff.
“The team has positively taken on board the recommendations and advice we have provided.
“The care home has a wonderful spirit and that’s thanks to the staff who make it feel like a home from home.”
