ST ELIZABETH HOSPICE VOLUNTEER AGREEMENT
Volunteers are an important and valued part of St Elizabeth Hospice. We very much appreciate that you have chosen to volunteer with us and we will do our best to make your volunteer experience enjoyable and rewarding. We aim to be flexible and supportive. We believe that the volunteer relationship is built on trust and mutual understanding.
This agreement sets out both what you, as a volunteer, can expect from the organisation in terms of treatment and support, and what the hospice, in turn expects from you in terms of standards and behaviour as a volunteer. This agreement is binding in honour only. It is not intended to be a legally binding contract and either St Elizabeth Hospice or the volunteer can end the agreement at any time.
As a volunteer we ask that you:
- Contribute positively towards the aims and objectives of the hospice.
- Perform your volunteer role to the best of your ability, and in line with any reasonable requests by the manager.
- Treat everyone you have contact with during your role as a volunteer with the utmost respect and dignity, whilst remaining professional at all times.
- Adhere to the organisation’s Policies and Procedures including Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities; all of which can be found on Sharepoint, the hospice intranet.
- Respect and adhere to the requirements of the Confidentiality, General Data Protection and Information Governance procedures.
- Not post or like/agree with any comments to social networking sites that disparage or are perceived to have a negative impact on the reputation of the hospice or its employees and volunteers.
- Meet agreed time commitments or give as much notice as possible whenever you cannot attend.
- Undertake any training required to fulfill your role.
- Uphold the hospice and individual teams’ values at all times.
- Consult with your Line Manager in the first instance or the Volunteer Team if you need any additional help or guidance.
In return, we will:
- Introduce you to how the hospice works and your role within the organisation.
- Provide any training you need to equip you for your volunteering role.
- Explain the standards and expectations we have of volunteers.
- Ensure you have the support you need and to give you constructive feedback on your performance.
- Treat you with respect and dignity and consider any feedback you may have for us.
- Treat you as an equal partner within the organisation in line with the Equal Opportunities Policy, with the aims of meeting our goals and fulfilling our mission.
