Zest Celebrates National Dog Day
From decorating wooden dogs and a dog photo treasure hunt in the hospice garden, through to walking inflatable dogs and dog bingo, the Zest young adults marked National Dog Day in style this year.
Friday 26th August saw National Dog Day being held across the country and the young adults at Zest got into the spirit of all things pooch-related.
Jodie Horwood, activities coordinator at Zest, said: “Today has been a lot of fun! Lots of laughing, lots of barking and lots of smiles, which has been great to see.
“As well as providing us all a chance to come together and be creative while celebrating our four legged friends, it has also been a great opportunity for us to have fun in the hospice garden and enjoy the outdoors and fresh air.”
Part of the St Elizabeth Hospice Group, Zest provides specialist medical and social support services to young adults living with progressive and life-limiting illnesses, while also ensuring the smooth transition from children’s hospice into adult care.
Held every Friday, from 10am-4pm at St Elizabeth Hospice, Zest Days are dedicated to Zest young adults aged 18 upwards, offering nurse-led specialist day service provision and the opportunity to take part in fun group sessions that can be enjoyed by all.
