Young Adults Host Mad Hatter’s Tea Party

19 July 2022

There was plenty of fun to be had at Zest on Friday 15th July, with the young adults hosting their very own Mad Hatter’s Tea Party as part of their weekly Zest Days meets.

From creating music through to decorating Mad Hatter themed cupcakes and decorating the whole of the Zest Days’ room in Mad Hatter Tea Party imagery, the day was full of all things Alice and Wonderland for the young adults to enjoy.

Jodie Horwood, activities coordinator at Zest, said: “It has been a brilliant day with lots of laughter and happy faces, as we have all enjoyed exploring the wonderful world of Alice in Wonderland together.

“We are very grateful to East Anglian Traditional Music Trust (EATMT) for kindly donating mini melodeons, in honour of EATMT’s former founder and director John Howson who received support from St Elizabeth Hospice before he passed away this June.

“Also, I would like to thank Deborah Buckey, on our Zest team, for leading on creating the amazing decorations and to the hospice Heath Road Shop team who supplied materials for the decorations, which really brought the tea party to life.”

Part of the St Elizabeth Hospice Group, Zest provides specialist medical and social support services to young adults living with progressive and life-limiting illnesses, while also ensuring the smooth transition from children’s hospice into adult care.

Held every Friday, from 10am-4pm at St Elizabeth Hospice, Zest Days are dedicated to Zest young adults aged 18 upwards, offering nurse-led specialist day service provision and the opportunity to take part in fun group sessions that can be enjoyed by all.
