Vote for St Elizabeth Hospice

27 September 2011

St Elizabeth Hospice has entered the Natwest CommunityForce scheme which awards £6,000 to projects that receive the most public votes.

Nearly 6,000 projects and charities have registered and the top three with the most votes in each area will win an award.

St Elizabeth Hospice is entered in the Education and Young People category as the money would support the Hospice’s new schools project which aims to promote awareness of death and dying, dispel myths around the subject and integrate the Hospice into the community.

Schools are required to cover the issues of loss, bereavement and transition but many find exploring these areas of Personal and Social Education challenging. A similar project, started at St Christopher’s Hospice, London in 2006, has proved extremely successful and is now being developed by other hospices across the UK.

Voting closes on Sunday 23rd October and winners will be announced in November.
