Volunteers needed for biggest charity outlet in Ipswich
St Elizabeth Hospice is urgently appealing for volunteers to help at their busy retail centre in Ipswich.
The 6,000 sq ft outlet, which is the biggest charity outlet in Ipswich, has been open for over a year now and has proved very popular with the local community – and more help is needed to keep up its success!
Volunteers are needed across a variety of roles including till work, serving customers, stock distribution and driving the retail van. Flexible hours can be arranged.
Terry York, St Elizabeth Hospice shop manager said: “Volunteer at our retail centre and you can rummage to find hidden treasures, specialise in a particular area such as books, create eye-catching displays and much more!
“The shop is packed with everything from vintage gems to beautiful crockery and antiques, furniture and quality clothes. You’ll enjoy working with our friendly team and your support really will make a difference to the lives of the patients and families cared for by the hospice.”
More than 1,100 people volunteer for St Elizabeth Hospice, with half of those helping in the shops. Without their dedication, time and support, the hospice and its shops wouldn’t be able to open its doors.
If you can spare a few hours a week or month to volunteer, please call 01473 707959 or pop into the retail centre and have a chat with Terry.
The retail centre sells a range of items from clothes, accessories, books and DVDs, to homeware, toys, games and furniture.
If you are not able to volunteer, why not support your local hospice by donating any goods you no longer need or use, just drop your good quality items off at the retail centre in Holywells Road from Monday to Saturday, 9am – 5pm. Parking is available.
