Valerie to Take on Bungee Challenge for Hospice
Valerie Talbott is hoping to raise £1,000 for St Elizabeth Hospice, by completing a bungee jump this April in memory of her best friend John Hunt.
Taking place on Saturday, April 8th in Windsor, Valerie’s challenge will see her jump 300-foot on a bungee rope in aid of the hospice which supported her friend John, before he died aged 73 on Christmas Day 2022.
Valerie, who lives in Bury St Edmunds, said: “This is a big challenge for me but one I am really looking forward to.
“It will be a brilliant achievement to complete the jump and I will think of John throughout the day. I have always enjoyed a challenge and have previously raised funds for the hospice by taking part in the Christmas Day Dip.
“It is a nice way of showing our gratitude for the amazing care they gave John and his family. Nothing was too much for the hospice and they are such a special organisation, which delivers very important support to people and their loved ones.”
John and Valerie were friends for over 30 years, after having met at Motocross – an off-road motorcycle racing sport both they and their families loved. John was a builder ever since he left school and lived in Kesgrave with his wife Linda.
Community Relationships Fundraising Manager St Elizabeth Hospice, Celia Joseph, said: “On behalf of everyone at St Elizabeth Hospice, thank you and good luck to Valerie for taking on this brilliant challenge.
“What a fantastic achievement this will be and every penny raised will make such a difference to the hospice and the services we provide to patients and their families throughout East Suffolk, Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft, during difficult times in their lives.”
