‘Tree-cycling’ Scheme is a ‘Tree-mendous’ Success

14 January 2025

St Elizabeth East Coast Hospice is thanking the local community for their support, after they helped raise over £1,600 for the charity via its Christmas tree recycling scheme – ‘Tree-cycling’.

The scheme, held in partnership with Just Helping on 8 and 9 January, saw volunteers from the hospice retail team and Medequip collect over 90 trees from homes, businesses, and organisations across Great Yarmouth and Waveney.

Supporters made donations in exchange for the collection of their trees, which will now be recycled locally by Mark Botwright Tree Services for use as animal feed and pathways.

Chloe Lock, community fundraiser at St Elizabeth East Coast Hospice: “Thank you to all the volunteers, businesses and local community who supported ‘Tree-cycling’. You have helped raise an amazing amount for St Elizabeth East Coast Hospice

“Every Christmas tree recycled helped raise vital funds to support patients and their families at times in their lives when care matters most.”

All funds raised will go towards supporting the work of St Elizabeth East Coast Hospice which, in partnership with East Coast Community Healthcare, has cared for more than 5,000 patients and their families in Great Yarmouth and Waveney, since launching in April 2019.
