Teams wanted to ‘get lost’ in Suffolk

24 February 2011

St Elizabeth Hospice’s popular Great Xscape fundraising event is back – this time with more twists than ever before.

Teams of three or four people will meet at the Maybush Inn in Waldringfield then be blindfolded, put on a coach and dropped off at a mystery location deep in the Suffolk countryside on Saturday 9th April.

From there they will have the challenge of finding their way back to the pub by any means they can following a set of clues – in the quickest time.

With them they will have little more than the clothes or fancy dress they are in – all mobile phones, money and maps are banned. A compass is allowed and systems are in place to ensure participants are safe throughout the event.

Teams will be sponsored and prizes will be given to those who return first and those wearing the best fancy dress. Afterwards there will be free food and refreshments laid on in the pub.

Rachael Mittell, of St Elizabeth Hospice, who is organising the Great Xscape, said: “This will be our third Great Xscape and our toughest one ever. Almost anything goes and we will ensure a good time is had by all. This will test people to the limit, but it is also a great fun way of supporting St Elizabeth Hospice.”
