Showstoppers Galore as Zest Celebrates Great British Bake Off

24 October 2022

The Zest young adults showed they have the recipe for success as they celebrated all things Great British Bake Off, with a number of ‘showstoppers’ being created in the process.

Taking place on Friday 21st October, there were plenty of ‘star bakers’ to be seen as the Zest young adults enjoyed a day full of Great British Bake Off themed fun.

From Bake Off Bingo and a Mystery Kitchen game through to the all-important Iced Bun Decoration Challenge, all of which were sound tracked by a range of baking themed music, there was lots of fun had as the young adults, their families and their carers indulged their love for the popular Channel 4 series.

Jodie Horwood, activities coordinator at Zest, said: “Today has been so much fun. Our young adults have really shown they have the recipe for success, with their beautifully decorated range of tasty treats.

“The idea for the Great British Bake Off themed week actually came from the young adults and their families, who wanted to celebrate their passion for the much-loved TV show.

“We have had plenty of ‘Hollywood handshakes’ and ‘star bakers’ but thankfully no ‘uneven bakes’ or ‘soggy bottoms’! It has just been a brilliant way for us to come together over baking and enjoying tasty food.”

Part of the St Elizabeth Hospice Group, Zest provides specialist medical and social support services to young adults living with progressive and life-limiting illnesses, while also ensuring the smooth transition from children’s hospice into adult care.
