Santa Dash Raises Vital Hospice Funds
With donations still coming in, over £4,000 has been raised for St Elizabeth East Coast Hospice thanks to the charity’s Santa Dash 2024.
Held on Sunday 8th December, Santa Dash saw more than 120 St Elizabeth East Coast Hospice supporters don Santa outfits and Christmas themed fancy dress as they completed a sponsored Family Fun Run or 5k run along Gorleston cliff top and promenade.
All funds raised by the event, which was sponsored by Persimmon Homes, will go towards St Elizabeth East Coast Hospice which, in partnership with East Coast Community Healthcare, has cared for more than 5,000 patients and their families in Great Yarmouth and Waveney, since launching in April 2019.
Brandon Orton, Events and Challenges Fundraiser at St Elizabeth East Cost Hospice, said: “What a fantastic day of festive fun! A big thank you to everyone who made our Santa Dash a success from the incredible volunteers and enthusiastic runners to the spectators who kept everyone motivated.
“We are thrilled to have raised this amazing amount to support our services in Great Yarmouth and Waveney, helping us provide essential care to patients and families, when support matters most in their lives.”
The results of the 5k timed race saw Christopher Fuller finish as the fastest male with a time of 18 minutes and 53 seconds, while Kirsty Wheeler finished as the fastest female in an impressive time of 22 minutes and 46 seconds.
