Remember a loved-one this Christmas at new Light up a Life event

30 December 2013

A new Light up a Life event is being held this week for anyone wishing to remember a loved one in the run-up to Christmas.

For the first time, a Light up a Life event will be held at St Elizabeth Hospice in Foxhall Road, Ipswich at 6.30pm on Thursday 19th December.

It is a free event suitable for all the family, not just those touched by Hospice care, and will include carols and a moment for reflection. Patients and their families are also welcome.

The Hospice choir will be singing and everyone will have the opportunity to personalise a Special Memories Card with a photo and/or message which can be brought to the event or sent in for display at the Hospice in Foxhall Road, Ipswich.

The Light up a Life event is free to attend, no ticket is needed just turn up. Mince pies and hot drinks will be served afterwards.

Event organiser Carrie Chipperfield, of St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “Christmas is a time for giving and sharing, a moment for enjoying being with your family members and loved ones. But it is also a time for reflecting on the lives of loved ones we have lost, remembering these special people and the cherished memories that we hold dear to our heart.

“St Elizabeth Hospice’s Light up a Life event is open to everyone and gives us an opportunity to come together as a community to celebrate the lives of those we love and remember those who are no longer with us.”

You can pick up a Special Memories Card from any St Elizabeth Hospice shop or the Hospice or call 01473 723600.

Also new is the opportunity to dedicate a light in a loved one’s memory online on a virtual Christmas Tree at www.stelizabethhospice.org.uk/lightupalife
