Pop up record shop raises funds for local hospice

29 January 2019

The stall run by Steve Langdon, sells a wide variety of records and has raised over £1,500 so far. Steve also regularly fundraises through walks with friends, including the White Peak Way in the Peak District which raised over £1,000 and a walk around the Isle of Wight coastline is planned for 2019.

Steve said:
“St Elizabeth Hospice provided much needed help, advice and support for our family to manage my mum’s illness and last days at home.

“When my dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer the following year, he had an initial spell in the hospice, to look at symptom control and setting up a care package, so that he could return home. I hadn’t realised this was something St Elizabeth Hospice provided.

“When Dad’s health deteriorated, he spent his final days in the hospice, where he could not have received better care  – and he had the hospice team and other patients to talk to and keep his spirits up.

“St Elizabeth Hospice were such a great help to me and my family, that it felt right to try and give them something back”.
