Official launch of St Elizabeth Hospice’s new services
New St Elizabeth Hospice beds and day services have been officially launched by Lady Bacon.
St Elizabeth Hospice is providing three hospice beds and a new specialist palliative daycare service in conjunction with All Hallows Hospital, Ditchingham, for patients living life with a progressive illness, such as heart failure, kidney disease or cancer.
Lady Bacon, a key figure in the Hospice movement, official launched the services on Monday 23rd April at an event attended by dignitaries, supporters, staff and patients.
The Hospice’s chief executive said the services would provide more patient choice for people in Great Yarmouth and Waveney and a high level of specialist palliative care.
The new services opened at the beginning of April and form part of five new St Elizabeth Hospice services opening in Waveney and Great Yarmouth, which were announced at the end of March.
The hospice’s new services are provided free of charge and are part of the charity’s strategy to meet the need for specialist palliative care in Great Yarmouth and Waveney and enable patients to access services closer to home.
All Hallows Hospital is a 30-bed Hospital and is part of the range of services run by the All Hallows Healthcare Trust which provides high quality and compassionate healthcare and has been working closely with St Elizabeth Hospice to enable provision of the new specialist palliative daycare and inpatient services at the Hospital site.
