New Chief Executive appointed
St Elizabeth Hospice has appointed Mark Millar as acting Chief Executive of the local charity.
Mark has a long and distinguished career in the NHS, including periods as Chief Executive at South Norfolk Primary Care Trust, at Hinchingbrooke Hospital, at Milton Keynes Hospital NHS Trust and at Hounslow and Richmond Community NHS Trust. Mark has, for some years, also been a non-executive director at Papworth Hospital.
He joins the Hospice as it finishes celebrating its 25th Anniversary year, having cared for over 20,000 local people since it first opened its doors in 1989.
Mark said: “I am very proud to have been offered the opportunity to lead St Elizabeth Hospice; a well-established local charity, with an excellent reputation in the community. I look forward to working with the committed staff, Trustees and many volunteers in continuing to deliver high quality palliative care and support to our patients and their families.”
Mark started at the Hospice on Monday 5th January and will work on a 3 day-per-week basis for the year ahead. Mark succeeds Jane Petit, who retired from the role in June 2014 after five years.
