National Award Success for Hospice Fundraiser Harli!

09 July 2025

Eleven-year-old, Harli Dixon has been named Young Fundraiser of the Year 2025 at the Chartered Institute of Fundraising Awards.

Harli, from near Woodbridge, received the award in recognition of her support for St Elizabeth Hospice, raising over £23,300 in memory of her mum, Jemma Chatten. Jemma was supported by the independent charity until her death in July 2022, aged 34.

By taking part in events such as the Midnight Walk and organising her own Dinner & Dance, Harli surpassed her initial £10,000 goal, eventually raising £23,323. She has also shared her story publicly to help raise awareness of the hospice’s services.

Her efforts have funded vital hospice services and contributed to a leaf in Jemma’s memory on the hospice’s Memory Tree, which Harli officially unveiled in September 2024.

Harli said: “I feel really proud of myself. I didn’t think I would win as the people nominated were so deserving too – it was a real surprise.

“Raising money for St Elizabeth Hospice is so important to me and other people should fundraise for the hospice too, as they need money to help give treatment to people who really need their support.”

Judges, from Chartered Institute of Fundraising Awards, praised Harli for ‘her commitment, passion and joy of fundraising’ and that she ‘should be very proud of what she has achieved and what her efforts mean to those who will benefit from the care the hospice provides.’

Judi Newman, Chief Executive Officer at St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “From all of us here at the hospice, many congratulations to Harli on this remarkable achievement. Your fundraising for the charity in memory of your mum has been absolutely inspirational and much appreciated.

“We have all enjoyed seeing your passion and creative ways of raising funds for our services and you truly deserve this brilliant recognition. Heartfelt thanks from us all and well done.”
