Miller Insurance donates vital funds to St Elizabeth Hospice

01 July 2021

Specialist insurance and reinsurance brokers, Miller Insurance, has donated £10,000 to independent Suffolk Charity, St Elizabeth Hospice.

For more than 20 years Miller Insurance has provided support to a wide range of good causes. Every year, the Group Executive Committee sets aside a charitable fund to support employees and the local community in their fund raising and other charitable activities.

A proportion of the funds is allocated, by the Miller Charitable Fund Committee, to partner charities which are chosen by employees.

With this year, St Elizabeth Hospice being one of the five selected partner charities and this generous donation brings Miller Insurance’s total support of the hospice to £15,000 since January 2021.

Georgina Garrod, member of the Miller Charitable Fund Committee, said: “The Miller Charitable Fund Committee is delighted and proud to be able to support all of its Charity Partners with these donations and through volunteering opportunities for staff.

“St Elizabeth Hospice makes a big difference in improving the quality of life of patients and their families who are facing the many challenges associated with life-threatening illness, not only the medical challenges.

“Our Partner Charities are nominated and voted for by our employees, St Elizabeth Hospice was nominated by a member of staff whose family member had been cared for by the hospice and they were keen to give back to the charity.”

Liz Baldwin, Corporate and Sponsorship Fundraising Manager at St Elizabeth Hospice, added: “Thank you to all at Miller Insurance for this donation and for their continued support of the hospice.

“Each year our services care for more than 3,000 people and their families in east Suffolk, Great Yarmouth and Waveney who are living with a progressive or life-limiting illness.

“Without the support of the local community and the generosity of businesses, such as Miller Insurance, we would not be able to deliver this care to those who need it in our communities.”
