ITFC fans raise more than £2,200 for Help the Hospices

06 March 2012

More than £2,200 raised by ITFC fans for Hospices

Following the ITFC auction and the collection at the match on Saturday 3rd March, £2,240 was raised for the Football League’s Help the Hospices campaign.

The money: £1,140 from the auction for a VIP day at Town’s home game against Bristol City at the weekend, and £1,100 donated by the supporters attending the game, will be split between St Elizabeth Hospice, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospice and St Nicholas Hospice Care.

There is still money coming in from the text to donate campaign and supporters can still make a donation by texting ‘ITFC99’ and the amount they’d like to donate e.g. £5 to 70070. All proceeds from the text will go straight to the campaign.

A spokesperson for the three hospices said: “We’re bowled over by how much has been raised and want to send a huge thank you to everyone who got involved in the auction or put their loose change into one of our collecting buckets. It costs in the region of £15 million each year to keep the three Suffolk hospices running and we’re so grateful to the support given to use by Town fans.

“Most of our volunteer collectors stayed to watch the game as well as some of the staff and patients from our hospices and so the 3 nil win over Bristol helped to cap a great day for us all.”
