Hundreds have fun in the bubbles raising funds for local charity
Hundreds of people gathered in Christchurch Park today to raise vital funds for a local charity.
Today marked the third time St Elizabeth Hospice has brought Bubble Rush to the Ipswich town centre park and the passion for bubbles shows no signs of stopping.
People young and old made their way round the 5km course and were blasted by frothy foam as they passed through the bubble stations along the route. By the time they reached the finish line and were awarded their medal for completing the challenge, they were covered head to toe in a variety of colours and were all wearing big smiles across their faces.
Natalie Hill, events and challenges fundraiser at St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “It’s been another wonderful Bubble Rush day in Ipswich and it’s fantastic to see so much support for the hospice from the local community.
“It’s always great to see everyone as they cross the finish line covered in foam and collecting their medals but there is a serious side to the event. Every penny raised from Bubble Rush today, through the entry fees and sponsorship, stays in the local area and goes towards helping members of our community living with a progressive or terminal illness, allowing us to offer all of our services free of charge to them when they need it most.”
