Hospice UK expresses thanks to volunteers supporting its 220 member hospices
During Volunteers’ Week (1-7 June), Hospice UK would like to express our huge thanks to all volunteers who generously give their time to support our 220 member hospices.
More than 125,000 volunteers across the UK support hospice care in many different ways; such as providing bereavement support, befriending services, or as trustees.
They include 1500 volunteers at St Elizabeth hospice in Ipswich, Suffolk.
By sharing their time, skills, companionship and compassion, hospice volunteers offer something very special that greatly enhances hospice care. The support they provide in helping hospices to deliver quality care is vital.
Hospice volunteers demonstrate the best of human kindness in action. Hospice UK and our member hospices are immensely grateful for all that they do for terminally ill people and their families.
