Hospice launches new way to give back online
St Elizabeth Hospice has launched a new website to inspire and encourage supporters to fundraise for the charity.
Called St Elizabeth Hospice Giving, it allows individuals and groups to set up personalised web pages for their own fundraising challenges – and share the information with friends and family around the world.
There are no commission fees, which means more of the money raised will go directly to the Hospice.
St Elizabeth Hospice Giving can be used by:
• Supporters setting their own fundraising events or challenges such as sponsored walks, skydives or the London Marathon
• Those being sponsored to take part in Hospice-organised activities, such as the Christmas Day Dip or Midnight Walk.
• Family and friends wishing to collection donations during a special occasion such as a birthday, wedding or anniversary.
The Hospice, which provides services free of charge in Suffolk and Norfolk, relies on fundraising and donations to meet the majority of its £8.7million annual running costs and is always looking for new ways to encourage support.
Rachael Brown, of St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “St Elizabeth Hospice Giving is a new initiative and allows supporters to raise funds for us online in a simple and effective way.
“Unlike some other fundraising websites, there are no commission fees – so more of the sponsorship and donation money will come directly to the Hospice.”
On St Elizabeth Hospice Giving, supporters can post updates on their progress, upload images and a running total of how much money you have raised will be displayed.
Fundraising pages can be also be linked to a St Elizabeth Tribute Fund so when a donation is made, it will automatically be attributed to the fund.
