Hospice Launches Fundraising Bike Ride for Hop to it! Suffolk 2025

St Elizabeth Hospice has announced it will be hosting a fundraising bike ride – Hop on it! – as part of its summer art trail, Hop to it! Suffolk 2025.
Taking place on 29 June, the cycle challenge will begin at St Elizabeth Hospice, on Foxhall Road, with participants given the option of completing either a 50 or 75-mile cycle across Suffolk. (see routes on map below)
Along the way, they will have the chance to take in some of the county’s beautiful sights as well as seeing a number of the sculptures from the hospice’s Hop to it! Suffolk 2025 art trail – which officially launches on 21 June.

James Fox-Golding, Events and Challenges Manager at St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “With excitement building ahead of Hop to it! Suffolk 2025 hitting the streets of Suffolk, we are delighted to announce this unique fundraising cycle ride in support of the hospice.
“It is a fantastic opportunity to see some of Suffolk’s stunning scenery this summer, as well as enjoying many of the amazing sculptures which make up our region-wide art trail this summer. All while raising funds to support our services, which provide compassionate care to patients and families throughout the local community.”
Following the success of previous hospice art trails – Pigs Gone Wild, Elmer’s Big Parade Suffolk, and The Big Hoot Ipswich 2022 – this much-anticipated event will once again be hosted in Ipswich.
For the first time, it will also extend to satellite locations across the county, including Beccles and Lowestoft – with support from presenting partners East Suffolk Council and Suffolk County Council.
Created in partnership with Wild in Art, the project will see 33 large, ornately decorated hare sculptures take over Ipswich for the summer, each featuring unique designs. Meanwhile, there will be a mix of 22 large and small hares located throughout Beccles and Lowestoft for the community to enjoy.
All funds raised by the trail and the Hop on it! bike ride will go towards supporting the work of St Elizabeth Hospice. An independent Suffolk charity which every year delivers support to over 4,000 people throughout East & Mid-Suffolk, Great Yarmouth and Waveney living with a progressive or life-limiting illness.
Annually, these services cost around £12 million to facilitate, with 70% of funds needed being raised through local community support.
Sponsored by Associated British Ports, entries for the Hop on it! 50-mile ride cost £37, while entries for the 75-mile ride are £47.
