Headline Sponsors Named for Suffolk Dog Day

28 June 2023

Gladwells Pet & Country Store and Skinners have been announced as headline sponsors for St Elizabeth Hospice’s Suffolk Dog Day 2023.

The news was officially revealed with the joint headline sponsors attending St Elizabeth Hospice, on Friday 23 June, to meet patients and staff at both the hospice and the charity’s young adult service, Zest, with a host of four-legged friends also in attendance, courtesy of staff from both sponsors, as well as RSPCA Suffolk and Nightingale Vets, who are also supporting the event.

James Fox-Golding, Events and Challenges Manager at St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “We are delighted to have both Gladwells Pet & Country Store and Skinners as headline sponsors for Suffolk Dog Day this year.

“Their visit to the hospice to announce the news, alongside a number of furry friends, brought smiles to the faces of patients and staff alike, and only served to increase all our excitement ahead of Suffolk Dog Day, in September, which we are sure will be a day full of fun for all.”

Cynthia Longstaff, who is receiving support from St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “It has been lovely to meet the dogs today. I have been a dog owner in the past and we still have dogs in the family, they are fantastic companions.

“It has been such a treat to have the dogs visit the hospice. St Elizabeth Hospice is so important and it is great the community gives brilliant support and fundraising to the charity and I really hope everyone enjoys Suffolk Dog Day later this year.”

Taking place on Sunday, 10 September, at Helmingham Hall, this year will be the first time the independent Suffolk charity has organised Suffolk Dog Day.

Suffolk Dog Day 2023 will feature a range of fun dog classes, dog agility and scurry activities, as well as over 50 stalls full of doggy goodies, Crufts’ style competitions, children’s entertainment and plenty of food and drink stalls for attendees to enjoy.

The Gladwells Pet & Country Store team said: “We are really looking forward to returning to this amazing event, this time as a headline sponsor alongside Skinners.

“Gladwells are happy to be supporting the event. As a longstanding Suffolk business, originally started in Copdock, we can’t wait to support an event all about the dogs of Suffolk.

“St Elizabeth Hospice is such an amazing charity to support in their takeover of the Suffolk Dog Day event this year. They provide vital services to the area and we are honoured to be supporting their important work.”

Ben Skinner, Sales Director at Skinners, added: “We are thoroughly looking forward to Suffolk Dog Day this year! It’s an event we have sponsored for many years and are honoured to be supporting it again with Gladwells. It’s a special day and a celebratory occasion full of fun and excitement.

“Being a long-established, Suffolk based pet food manufacture, there are natural synergies between Skinner’s and Suffolk Dog Day. We are immensely proud to be supporting this event, alongside and in connection with St Elizabeth Hospice. St Elizabeth Hospice provides a vital service that plays a pivotal role in ensuring people receive the help they need. It’s an admirable and deserving cause we that we are happy to play our part in supporting.”

Early bird tickets for Suffolk Dog Day are currently available until Sunday 30 July, with tickets costing £5 child, £13 adult and £30 family ticket (2 adults, 3 children).
