Hangar Dance stalwarts visit Hospice patients
Stalwart organisers of the Hangar Dance in Beccles were invited to take part in a 1940’s themed day with the St Elizabeth Hospice patients their fundraising helps support.
Ken and Sue Woodgate, of Oulton Broad, visited patients and staff at the Hospice’s day care in Ditchingham on Monday 2nd June.
They were joined by supporters John Flanagan, Jane Smith and Phyliss and Barry Cole, all from Lowestoft, who got into the wartime spirit dressed in 1940s costume and showed memorabilia from the era.
Mr and Mrs Woodgate are organising the 25th Hangar Dance at Ellough Airfield this month and have raised £100,000 over the years.
This year’s events on June 27 and June 28 will raise funds for local charity St Elizabeth Hospice which improves life for people living with a progressive illness in Waveney and Great Yarmouth as well as East Suffolk.
Mr Woodgate said: “The Hangar Dance has been a labour of love of ours for years and it is lovely to see how patients are benefiting from the funds we have raised. The nurses and patients were really pleased to see us and it is clear excellent work is done by the Hospice to help patients and their families in this area.”
St Elizabeth Hospice provides inpatient beds and day care at Ditchingham.
