Half Marathon runners raise money for Hospice

21 September 2011

More than 1,500 runners completed the third Larking Gowen Ipswich Half Marathon on Sunday 25th September and many were raising money for nominated charity St Elizabeth Hospice.

There was also tremendous support from members of the public as the runners took to the streets of Ipswich and their encouragement helped many participants to keep going.  In addition, the 4K Family Fun Run saw some very competitive children and parents trying to outdo each other!

Sara White, St Elizabeth Hospice’s corporate fundraiser, said, “This was a great event for the town and we are very grateful for all those who chose to run for St Elizabeth Hospice and everyone who gave so generously to our collection on the day. Your support will enable us to provide care for patients and support for their families, friends and carers throughout Suffolk.”

The date for the 2012 Larking Gowen Ipswich Half Marathon will be announced on the race website www.ipswichhalfmarathon.co.uk
