Golf Day Raises £2,122 for St Elizabeth East Coast Hospice
More than £2,120 has been raised for St Elizabeth East Coast Hospice by the French family through a fundraising golf day in memory of John French.
Held at Gorleston Golf Club, on 6th October, the fundraiser, organised by the family company – Jax Plumbing and Heating Ltd, for St Elizabeth East Coast Hospice saw over 50 people join alongside the family to play either 18 holes of four ball golf or Texas Scramble golf.
Participants were asked to donate £10 for entry, with the day also featuring nearest the pin and longest drive rewards and a special hole in one competition on the eleventh hole, while food and refreshments were also available for donations to the hospice, which provided support to John French who passed away aged 59-years-old, last year, after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
John’s family said: “Thank you to all who supported the golf day and helped us raise this brilliant amount of money for St Elizabeth East Coast Hospice. They were there for Dad and our whole family 24/7 and this is our way of showing our thanks to the hospice.
“You never know when you may need support from the amazing St Elizabeth East Coast Hospice team, but they are there for you and your loved ones when care matters most. They are just brilliant and their compassionate care and knowledgeable staff provide great calm and support.”
All funds raised will go towards St Elizabeth East Coast Hospice which, in partnership with East Coast Community Healthcare, has cared for more than 3,900 patients and their families in Great Yarmouth and Waveney, since launching in April 2019.
Kelly Nekrews, Community Fundraising Assistant at St Elizabeth East Coast Hospice, added: “Thank you to the French family and all who supported the fantastic golf day in aid of St Elizabeth East Coast Hospice.
“You have raised an amazing amount for the charity and each penny really will make such a difference to the hospice as we continue to evolve and expand our services to support more patients and their loved ones throughout Great Yarmouth and Waveney.”
