Fishermen compete in support of the hospice
The second Ken Brett silver fish challenge in aid of St Elizabeth Hospice was held at Suffolk Water Park on Wednesday 21 November 2018.
Suffolk Water Park donated match lake 1 and the traditional lake this year for the event which attracted 30 keen anglers, with a proportion of proceeds going to charity. In total just over £450 was raised for the hospice.
The Ken Brett silverfish challenge was set up by Ken Brett, who was cared for by the St Elizabeth Hospice. Ken was a keen fisherman and following his time in the hospice, wanted to hold a silver fish event to help raise funds for the hospice. His hospice nurse Martin Russell has fished both matches, last year and this year. Unfortunately Ken was taken into hospital on the day of the 1st match in 2017 and he sadly passed away.
Suffolk Water Park will continue his silverfish challenge on an annual basis in his memory and to raise much needed funds for the St Elizabeth Hospice.
