Find out how you could volunteer for your local hospice

01 February 2022

The Suffolk community is invited by St Elizabeth Hospice to attend a new volunteer recruitment event this February.

Taking place between 5pm and 7pm on Tuesday 15th February at St Elizabeth Hospice’s Heath Road hub and shop, the drop-in event will give attendees the opportunity to speak to staff about volunteer opportunities available at the hospice and to learn how they could support the charity.

Lynda Mills, Volunteer Partnerships Administration Coordinator at St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “We have a fantastic team of volunteers who make such a difference to the hospice with their support, but we are always keen to add new faces, with new skillsets.

“Through ‘Love Your Community, Volunteer For Your Hospice’ and our recruitment event in February, we are keen to highlight the range of volunteering roles available at the hospice and how everyone has a skill which can be of great benefit.

“As an independent charity we rely on the generous support of the public to ensure we can continue supporting local people who need our vital services. By volunteering for the hospice you will be making a big difference to many people in your community.

“We look forward to welcoming everyone to the hospice’s Heath Road Shop on Tuesday 15th February.”

The event is part of the hospice’s ‘Love Your Community, Volunteer For Your Hospice’ campaign which is encouraging the community and hospice supporters to consider how they could help their local hospice.

From volunteering in the hospice kitchen, helping the hospice administration and maintenance teams through to supporting the clinical team on the inpatient unit and volunteering at St Elizabeth Hospice’s reception, more than 1,500 volunteers generously give their time to the hospice by carrying out a variety of roles.

There is no need to register ahead of the volunteering recruitment on 15th February.

St Elizabeth Hospice Heath Road shop is located at Units 1 – 3 Heath Road, Ipswich, IP4 5RZ.
