Sheeran fans gather to buy Ed’s clothes raising £2,500 for hospice

Dozens of Sheeran fans descended into the St Elizabeth Hospice shop in Framlingham on Saturday to get their hands on Ed’s clothes, raising £2,500 for the local charity.

The global star donated 13 bags of his clothes to his local hospice shop, including T-shirts, hoodies, onesies, suits, and shoes from high street brands to designers.

More than 300 items were donated in total, including the shirt he wore in the Bridget Jones’s Baby movie and the suits he wore at the Brits and Grammys and these items are still available for you to bid on, on eBay.

Around 150 items were on sale in the shop in Market Hill, Framlingham, with nearly all of them being sold to fans who had travelled to Framlingham especially to buy something that Ed has worn.

The shop opened its doors at 9am, but people were queuing from 8.30am.

Rachail Pollard, St Elizabeth Hospice shop manager, said: “We had a fantastic turnout at the shop on Saturday with dozens of people coming along to buy something of Eds.

“We sold an array of items, from shirts, and T-shirts, to trainers and hoodies, making £1,000 in the first 30 minutes!

“In total around £2,500 was raised from the sales in the shops alone on Saturday and a selection of items will be available to buy on eBay until Tuesday 4 October.”

Sue and Adrian Pivett bought the first items of the day, a red checked shirt and a black T-shirt. Sue Pivett, said: “We’re buying for our daughter Harriet, who’s a big Ed Sheeran fan. It’s a bit early for her so we came down to buy something for her. She’ll be pleased with anything that was Ed’s.”

Shopper, Sarah Gower, from Beccles, said: “I’ve bought some of Ed Sheeran’s clothes for my daughter, Delilah, who’s at work this morning and couldn’t be here. There’s a really good selection from £115 upwards to there’s something for everyone. I’ve also bought some Imogen Sheeran jewellery! It’s fantastic because it all supports the hospice. I hope the charity does really well from this and makes lots of money.”

Many of the items are being sold on eBay so Ed’s international fan base can bid for their favourite garment.

Favourites currently up for grabs online include Ed’s Gucci sneakers; the leather jacket by John Varvatos he worse at the 2013 Grammy nominations; his two-piece black, check suit worn at the Grammys in 2013; and of course the famous Bridget Jones shirt.
