Do you dare take on the Great Xscape and Survive?
Teams from Suffolk are being asked to test their mettle with St Elizabeth Hospice’s toughest ever fundraising challenge on Saturday 5th April.
Great Xscape and Survive is a unique event where teams of colleagues, friends or family battle it out to find their way back after being taken blindfolded to a secret location – with no maps, money or mobiles.
There will be more challenges and twists along the way than ever before to test your brain and muscle power.
Teams are encouraged to wear fancy dress and must raise sponsorship.
There will be a prize for the winning team and the most creative fancy dress.
Back at base – The Shipwreck Bar and Restaurant in Shotley Gate, Ipswich – there will be light refreshments and a raffle.
Leanne Carhart, the Hospice’s Lead Events and Challenges Fundraiser, said: “This year’s Great Xscape and Survive is going to be the toughest ever with plenty of challenges in store. It’s a great event for team building and we love it when teams from the same company compete with each other – it adds an extra edge.
“It will be a fun, action-packed day and to top it all, the money raised will go towards providing local Hospice care for local people.”
Twenty teams took part in last year’s Great Xscape raising around £10,000.
The winning team was ‘Outnumbered’ from electricity supplier Haven Power, made up of Zoe Gooch, Lauren Jones, Matthew Watkins and Letitia Woodward, with a time of two hours and four minutes. The prize for best fancy dress was awarded to Heroes in a Half Shell, who had dressed as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
St Elizabeth Hospice improves life for people living with a progressive illness in East Suffolk and South Norfolk. It costs £9.1million a year to run and relies on fundraising events, donations and the income generated from its shops to meet the majority of these costs.
