Daisy Day remembrance event returns for 2022
For the second year St Elizabeth Hospice will once again be hosting its Daisy Day remembrance event this September to celebrate the lives of loved ones across the region.
Taking place on Sunday 4th September, between 2pm-4pm, in the tranquil setting of the Walled Garden in Holywells Park, Ipswich, Daisy Day will provide the community an opportunity to come together with the hospice to remember loved ones.
The free event will see hundreds of bespoke, handmade foamex daisy markers displayed at the Walled Garden, in Holywells Park, to form a breathtaking scene, with each daisy featuring the name of a friend or relative who has passed away.
Sponsored by SEH French Construction, Daisy Day will also include relaxing live music and poignant readings from hospice representatives and the Mayor of Ipswich as well as refreshments.
Catherine Sheppard, supporter campaigns fundraiser at St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “Similar to last year’s Daisy Day, this year’s event will provide the chance to pause and celebrate the lives of special people no longer with us, while we join together with the community in the stunning backdrop of Holywells Park.
“Please do consider making a Daisy dedication to remember those most dear to us. By purchasing a daisy you will also be helping raise funds for St Elizabeth Hospice, enabling our team to continue to develop our services in order to help more people and their families during difficult times in their lives.”
Open to all, even if they had no previous connection to the hospice, Daisy Day also offers friends and families the opportunity to purchase the unique daisies to help remember their loved ones.
While all the daises will be displayed after the event in the courtyard, next to the Walled garden, until 29th September.
Simon Girling, director of SEH French, said: “Over the years we’ve been honoured to support St Elizabeth Hospice by sponsoring events like Sunflower Memories, last year’s inaugural Daisy Day and the return of the event this year.
“The impact the charity makes to people living with progressive or life limiting illnesses and their families is invaluable, and many of us know someone they have supported.
“We’d like to thank St Elizabeth Hospice for the opportunity to be a part of this event, which gives so many people the chance to pay tribute to loved ones in a special way.”To make a Daisy Dedication visit www.stelizabethhospice.org.uk/daisy-day.
