Charity skydive raises over £6,500 for hospice
Mark Willett has raised £6,547 for independent Suffolk charity, St Elizabeth Hospice after completing a fundraising skydive this October.
Taking place at Beccles Airfield, on 21st October, Mark’s skydive saw him jump 13,000ft from a plane, in aid of St Elizabeth Hospice.
“It was quite the experience and I am so glad I’ve done it, particularly as the amount raised was way beyond my expectations,” explained Mark, who lives in Ipswich.
“The care the hospice has given to a number of my family members means St Elizabeth Hospice is a cause close to my heart and by doing this fundraising skydive, this was my way of saying ‘thank you’.
“I even wore a Norwich City FC shirt which, as a staunch Ipswich fan, hurt a lot! But the Chairman of my employers, Auction House East Anglia, agreed that if I did this that he would match whatever amount I raised.
“So wearing the yellow and green was more than worth it in the end and a small price to pay for the amazing amount raised, but I am pleased to have discarded the shirt now! A massive thank you to everyone who supported me, it is greatly appreciated and really will make a difference to a vital service.”
An independent charity, every year St Elizabeth Hospice delivers specialist palliative care to more than 3,000 people living with a progressive or life-limiting illness, and their families, throughout East Suffolk, Great Yarmouth and Waveney.
