Changes to Light Up a Life on Sunday 19 December
Due to new government guidelines, we are slightly adapting Light Up a Life this Sunday 19 December to keep everyone safe as they come to remember their loved ones this Christmas.
Instead of the traditional remembrance service, with readings and carols, we will have an open remembrance afternoon from 2.30pm – 4pm at St Mary-le-Tower Church in Ipswich on Sunday 19 December.
During this time, you can come to see your dedication tag on our Christmas tree, light a candle and take time to reflect with your own personal thoughts, as music plays in the background. Staff will be on hand if you feel you need to talk to someone.
The event is still free and open to everyone. You can come for as long or as little time as you wish between 2.30pm-4pm.
We ask all attendees to please wear a mask, unless exempt, and to keep your space between other parties.
We recommend testing with a lateral flow test before attending to keep everyone as safe as possible. Please stay at home if you have COVID-19 symptoms.
If you have decided to not come along on Sunday, we will have a virtual video version of the event on our social media channels next week which you can view from the comfort of your home.
At St Elizabeth Hospice, we understand the importance of remembering loved ones, especially during the festive season, and we hope this adapted offer for Light Up a Life will give you and your family time to reflect safely.
