Brantham 5 Mile & Junior Fun Run Raises £1,000
Brantham 5 Mile & Junior Fun Run has raised a fantastic £1,000 for St Elizabeth Hospice.
Held in July, the annual running event saw over 250 plus runners take part helping to raise vital funds and awareness for the independent Suffolk charity and its services.
Becki Byam, Committee Member for the Brantham 5 Mile & Junior Fun Run, said: “Each year a high portion of our profits from the race are donated to a charity close to our hearts.
“This year, my lovely Mum was diagnosed with cancer at the young age of 63 and she will be soon be using the hospice’s services. We have been blown away by St Elizabeth Hospice’s kindness and the services it offers patients, so it felt only right St Elizabeth Hospice would be our chosen charity for 2023.
“As a group we all know of friends and family who have received support from the hospice and they have all echoed the same feelings, that the hospice not only provides support for their patients, but also the families – which is so important in coping with losing loved ones.
“We feel really proud to have contributed towards the huge fundraising drive and general awareness that the hospice need to do each year and are extremely grateful to all who supported us in raising this brilliant amount.”
Kelly Nekrews, Community Fundraiser at St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “Well done and thank you Becki and everyone who supported the Brantham 5 Mile & Junior Fun Run this year.
“You have raised an amazing amount of money which will make a real difference to the hospice and its services, as we continue to evolve and develop our care to support more patients and their families throughout the region.”
